What is AISP?
The International Association of Peace Soldiers (AISP/SPIA) was established on November 19, 1988. Since 1995, it has held general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council under resolution 12-96 (XLIV) of July 3, 1995, within the framework of Security Council resolutions.
What are their missions?
- Extending the humanitarian and diplomatic efforts of UN Peacekeepers in the field.
- Helping former Peacekeepers in their transition, recognizing their rights, and preserving the memory of missions involving over 1.5 million veterans.
AISP develops:
- Demining programs.
- A training program for protected natural area guards.
- An international peace academy for conflict resolution and diplomat training.
- A sports and health program promoting peace.
- A youth program (International Young Peacemaker Program).
- ASSEO program (Reception, Support, Solidarity, Listening, and Guidance) for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Since 2009, AISP has participated in Human Rights and humanitarian action commissions.
